I am unsure of all the technical reasons for this, but I believe it has to do with how the application submitts a print job. Most should, but some like Adobe Acrobat Reader will not succesfully print. Note that not all applications are going to be able to print succesfully to the shared printer like this. You should now be able to print to the shared printer from your mac. For printer model select the Zenographics CUPS driver.
